Parents can now drop in on their children at day-care via the World Wide Web.
Several local day cares including - Claiborne Christian School, Nature’s Way Montessori School and Small World installed video cameras linked to the Internet so parents can watch their youngsters on the Web.
All the parents enjoy it and approve, said Twyla Kerrigan, director of Small World in West Monroe.
Here’s how it works: Parents are given a password to log on to a secure area of their daycare’s website. Cameras placed throughout the day cares provide live streaming video to the computer.

Simpson said she thinks about her son all day long at the touch of a key on my computer, I can watch him, she said.
Kerrigan said the technology isn’t intrusive and is more fun than interruption.
My dad lives out of town, and he gets to see his granddaughter daily using ChildrenView, Kerrigan said, adding her daughter attends the center.
School-age children under stand the technology and enjoy it. Kerrigan said some children asked her the time so they could wave at their mom, who promised to check in at a certain time. It’s been great, she said.
